I’m Joanne McCafferty, a qualified, experienced, Independent Celebrant, and I would be honoured to be a part of your special day. My passion is creating wedding ceremonies that are as unique and meaningful as your love story.

Your Ceremony, Your Way!  Every couple is different, and your wedding ceremony should reflect your journey, values, and personality. Whether you dream of a romantic beachfront ceremony, a private elopement, or a grand celebration surrounded by family and friends, I will work closely with you to bring your vision to life.
With no strict rules to follow, you have the freedom to shape your ceremony exactly as you wish. Whether you prefer a traditional, modern, or spiritual service, I will listen to your ideas, offer guidance, and craft a ceremony that resonates with you both.

A Wealth of Experience - Having lived in Spain for over 35 years, I bring extensive experience in event planning, music, and public speaking. My background as a wedding planner and professional singer ensures that every detail of your ceremony is beautifully delivered with warmth, professionalism, and a touch of magic.


​My personal love story started in Spain, and I have been married for well over 30 years now. My husband and I have one gorgeous daughter (of course, I am biased!), and Spain holds a very special place in my heart. I understand the significance of choosing this beautiful destination for your wedding and will ensure that your ceremony is heartfelt, personal, and unforgettable.

Would you like to include personal vows, cultural traditions, or meaningful rituals such as:

 We can even create something entirely unique that reflects your love story!
It is essential that your guests can hear every special moment of your ceremony. A lapel microphone for me is included in my fee. If needed, I can also provide a radio mic and full sound equipment for your ceremony at an additional cost.

Elopement Ceremonies-  If you're dreaming of a deeply personal and romantic ceremony, an elopement on the Costa del Sol is a perfect choice. Imagine exchanging vows on a golden beach, a secluded garden, or a stunning resort with just the two of you, myself, and a photographer to capture your unforgettable moment. Many couples then choose to celebrate later with family and friends, possibly back home.
Renewal of Vows – A Celebration of Lasting Love A renewal of vows ceremony is a beautiful way to reaffirm your love and commitment. Whether you are celebrating a milestone anniversary, overcoming challenges together, or simply wish to relive the magic of your wedding day, I will help you create a heartfelt and meaningful ceremony that reflects your journey. These ceremonies can be as intimate or as grand as you desire, set in a breathtaking location of your choice on the stunning Costa del Sol.

Fees And What To Expect

  • My fee is €575.- within an hour’s travel from Mijas Costa.
  • If possible, we’ll start with a relaxed 30 to 40-minute video chat to get to know each other, making sure we're the perfect fit.
  • Once the €200 save-the-date deposit is paid, I’ll email my Couples Questionnaire – which you can fill in or we can go through it together.
  • Around 2–3 months before your wedding, we’ll have another video call to chat through the details of your ceremony.
  • About 3–4 weeks before your wedding day, I’ll send you a draft of your ceremony to review if you desire.
  • If we can meet up in person before your wedding, even better! If you're planning a tasting trip or a rehearsal, they are the perfect times.​

I'm here throughout to answer all questions you may have and offer advice and help regarding personal vows, readings, poems, and meaningful symbolic rituals.
